Aube The app Your data Français Coming soon

Aube privacy policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Aube is an Android app that analyzes your health and training data. It is designed so that your data stays on your phone. This document states exactly what is read, where it is stored, and the only cases where anything leaves the device.

In short

Data read

With your permission, Aube reads from Health Connect, read-only:

Aube never writes or changes data in Health Connect. You can revoke each permission at any time in the Health Connect settings.

The use of information received from Health Connect complies with the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Data you enter

Your profile (sex, age, height, sleep need, max HR), your journal, your morning check-in, HRV entered manually, your meals and your settings.

Storage

Everything is saved only on the phone, in the app's private database. Android automatic backup is disabled for Aube: your data is not copied to Google's cloud.

You can export your data as CSV (Profile → Data → Export). The file is saved where you choose, under your responsibility.

Uninstalling the app deletes all its data.

What leaves the phone, and when

AI coach (optional, off by default)

The coach only works with your own Anthropic API key, which you add yourself. It is encrypted on the phone with the Android Keystore.

When you send a question, Aube sends the following to Anthropic's Claude API:

No raw data (heart rate samples, exact workout times) is sent. The conversation is not saved on the phone.

This data is processed by Anthropic under its terms and its privacy policy.

Product lookup by barcode

When you scan a product, only the barcode is sent to Open Food Facts, a free and collaborative food database, to retrieve its nutrition values. No other data is sent.

Barcode reading is handled by the Google Play services scanner, which analyzes the image on the phone. It is governed by Google's terms.

Update check

At most once a day, and when you ask for it in About, Aube downloads a small file from its website that states the latest available version. If you choose to install it, the app is downloaded from that same website. No personal or health data is sent: the website only sees the technical information of an ordinary web request (IP address, time of the request).

Medical disclaimer

Aube is not a medical device. Its scores, advice and estimates are indicative and do not replace the advice of a health professional. If you have worrying symptoms, see a doctor.
